Batumi — Europe’s Leading All-Season Destination

International recognition — a major achievement for Batumi and Georgia

On October 23, 2025, the World Travel Awards Europe 2025 gala ceremony was held on the Italian island of Sardinia, where Batumi was honored with the title of Europe’s Leading All-Season Destination.
Often referred to as the “Oscars of the tourism industry,” the World Travel Awards recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements and excellence across all sectors of global travel and hospitality.

This recognition reaffirms Batumi’s year-round appeal, offering visitors a diverse range of experiences in every season.
It represents a major milestone not only for the city itself but also for the entire Adjara region.
Earning this prestigious title amid strong competition from such renowned European cities as Budapest, Geneva, Munich, Oslo, Salzburg, Stockholm, and Tallinn highlights Batumi’s exceptional ability to blend history, culture, and modern sophistication.

The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, who attended the ceremony alongside members of the regional delegation, remarked:

“This prestigious recognition is the result of close cooperation between the central and local governments, the private sector, and our community.
Tourism is not only a powerful driver of economic growth, but also one of the most meaningful ways to share our country’s cultural identity with the world.”

Batumi’s ability to attract visitors year-round — offering diverse activities and memorable experiences in every season — played a decisive role in earning this distinction.
From relaxing on the Black Sea beaches in summer, to hiking in the nearby mountains in autumn, and discovering the city’s rich cultural heritage in winter, Batumi truly has something special to offer all year long.

This recognition is a significant milestone for both Georgia and Batumi, positioning the city not merely as a summer resort, but as a true four-season destination.
Such a status reinforces Batumi’s image as a vibrant, year-round tourism hub, fostering new investment opportunities, infrastructure growth, and continuous improvements in service quality.

Beyond its symbolic value, this achievement has a tangible impact on the local economy — increased tourism directly drives job creation and the growth of small businesses.
Ultimately, this international acknowledgment opens new horizons for Batumi’s future, solidifying its status as one of the most dynamic and forward-looking cities in the region.
